Bentwood Inn offers delightful B&B and self-catering accommodation among the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg, a World Heritage Site.

Nestling in the quaint village of Underberg, we offer our guests a tranquil and scenic setting in which to relax and simply do nothing or spend quality family time.

If you prefer to be more energetic, take a rod and see if you can hook a trout or two in one of the many rivers or dams which dot our area.Then bring your catch home to Bentwood Inn and grill/braai it at your leisure on the facilities provided. We're proud to say that our area offers more fly-fishing opportunities than anywhere else in South Africa.There are also a host of other exciting activities and adventures waiting for you.

Bentwood Inn offers both Bed and Breakfast as well as Self Catering Accommodation. There are 4 cottages that we host guests in.

Cottage 1 - the Crested Barbet
has twin beds with basic cooking facilities. A bathroom, with shower and toilet complete the Rondavel. There is a T.V. with DSTV Lite for your entertainment and this cottage opens onto a small garden area which is host to many different bird species. Included in what you could see are The Natal Robin, The Cape Weaver, The Malachite Sunbird, the Mousebird. We have had sightings of Lamageier on our property so you may just be in luck.

Cottage 2 - the Lilac-Breasted Roller
is our premier family unit. Lounge, Kitchenette, bathroom and main bedroom ensures family comfort. A 4 sleeper that could accommodate 5 easily has a T.V. with DSTV Lite for your viewing pleasure. There is also an outside patio area which is a wonderful spot for sundowners as well as early morning bird viewing. It has a bath, which is appealing to families with smaller children.

Cottage 3 - the Giant Kingfisher
is a cosy, romantic, double room with kitchenette and bathroom. The unit has a T.V. with DSTV Lite for your entertainment. You have an outdoor patio where you can sit and spend time with the birds, which are in abundance in the garden. You may, occasionally, be entertained by a chicken!

Cottage 4 - the Hoopoe
is a 4 sleeper with a double bunk bed and double bed. This unit has a kitchenette with a shower in the bathroom. it has a family sized patio which is a wonderful space to sit and relax with the family.

The property is very child friendly, with a trampoline and swings for the children to entertain themselves with. Its a large property with plenty of space to run around and kick a soccer ball or play on the swing ball.
